Small-Group Summit Ratios
1 : 3 Guide-to-ClimberWe never overcrowd high-altitude routes. On technical summit pushes, each roped team maintains a maximum 1:3 ratio so your pace, hydration, and safety are continuously monitored.

Founded by certified mountaineer Sachin Lama, Kailasa Treks leads small, safety-first teams on 6,000m and 7,000m Himalayan expeditions.
Continuous expedition guiding and alpine leadership across Indian & Nepal ranges since 2013.
Safely executed across Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Nepal.
Technical route mastery on demanding peaks including Mt. Nun (7,135m), Mt. Kun (7,077m), and Satopanth (7,075m).
Pasang Sherpa, our Sardar (lead Sherpa) and fixed-rope team leader, brings 22+ years on 8,000m peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Dhaulagiri.

THE FOUNDER'S PHILOSOPHY
A certified alpine guide and high-altitude expedition leader guiding since 2013 across Ladakh, Garhwal, Zanskar, and the Nepal Himalayas. Sachin completed his Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses at IHCAE, Search & Rescue at HMI, Special Search & Rescue at NIM, and Wilderness First Responder training with NOLS in Ranikhet.
At Kailasa Treks, he set a different standard: true mountaineering is not about being carried to a summit, but about self-reliance, technical competence, and respect for conditions. Our expeditions are built so you learn rope transitions, ice-axe self-arrest, and weather reading, and become an active member of your rope team.

VOICES FROM THE MOUNTAINS
"Climbing Nun with Sachin was the defining expedition of my mountaineering life. The fixed rope setups, summit night pacing, and high camp logistics were flawless."
"As an amateur attempting my first 6,000m summit, Sachin's patient training on cramponing and ice-axe arrest at base camp gave me the calm competence I needed to stand on the summit safely."
"Crossing the Kalindi Khal glacier with Kailasa Treks was pure alpine mastery. Their safety protocols, medical checks, and crew spirit turned an intimidating traverse into an unforgettable achievement."
High-altitude mountaineering carries objective hazards—altitude, avalanches, weather shifts, and technical exposure. Here is how we mitigate risk and protect every life on our rope teams.
We never overcrowd high-altitude routes. On technical summit pushes, each roped team maintains a maximum 1:3 ratio so your pace, hydration, and safety are continuously monitored.
Twice-daily pulse oximetry, built-in acclimatisation buffer days, Gamow bag evacuation protocols, and emergency medical oxygen reserved for all 6,000m and 7,000m camps.
We use certified dynamic & static ropes, snow-stakes, ice screws, four-season geodesic expedition tents, and satellite / VHF mountain communications on every remote objective.
Our local climbing Sherpas and high-altitude porters are the backbone of every climb. We guarantee capped load weights (max 20–25 kg), full medical coverage, proper cold-weather gear, and fair living wages.
Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), HAPE, and HACE require immediate, trained intervention. Every expedition is equipped to stabilize, treat, and if necessary, evacuate climbers without delay.
View all 4Hide detailsMandatory morning and evening biometric checks (SpO2 levels & resting heart rate) logged in our expedition register to detect altitude illness before it becomes acute.
Medical-grade oxygen cylinders and portable hyperbaric chambers stationed at intermediate high camps across all 6,000m and 7,000m objectives.
All participants must complete our high-altitude medical declaration and cardiovascular history assessment before booking confirmation.
Every climber on technical routes must hold specialized mountaineering insurance covering search, rescue, and helicopter evacuation up to 7,000m.
Direct operational liaison with Indian Air Force & civil helicopter rescue services.
The Himalayas are sacred landscapes vulnerable to ecological destruction. We practice strict alpine stewardship so future climbers find untouched wilderness.
View all 4Hide detailsZero waste left at high camps. All ration packaging, fuel canisters, and equipment wrappers are catalogued, weighed, and transported down to municipal disposal.
On technical peaks like Satopanth and Kang Yatse II, our teams utilize clean-waste WAG bags to prevent human contamination of fragile perennial snowfields.
100% clean-burning LPG and kerosene fuels are used exclusively above the tree line. We never harvest alpine juniper, scrub, or fragile high-altitude timber.
Strictly enforced load limits (20–25 kg maximum), high-altitude mountain boots, warm jackets, and emergency medical protection provided for all mountain staff.
Certified LNT field operating practices on all 6,000m & 7,000m trails.

EXPEDITION TRANSPARENCY
Honest answers regarding guide leadership, participant screening, emergency protocols, insurance mandates, and mountain ethics.
Consult directly with founder Sachin Lama to discuss route suitability, required gear, or custom dates.
Ask an expedition leaderSachin Lama personally leads select marquee 6,000m and 7,000m climbs each season (such as Mt. Nun, Satopanth, and Kang Yatse II). For concurrent expeditions, leadership is entrusted to our vetted roster of senior mountain guides (including NIM-trained mountaineers) with 8–15 years of alpine experience. Every participant is introduced to their assigned expedition leader during a mandatory technical briefing 3 weeks before departure.
We do not sell commercial climbs without verifying your technical and physiological readiness. For 6,000m peaks, we review your cardiovascular conditioning and past high-altitude trekking history above 4,500m. For technical 7,000m summits (like Mt. Nun or Satopanth), prior graduation from an Advanced Mountaineering Course (AMC) or demonstrable alpine glacier/crampon ascents is mandatory. A signed medical fitness certificate is required for all bookings.
Every expedition camp is equipped with emergency medical oxygen, pulse oximeters, and comprehensive wilderness medical kits. At the first sign of severe Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High-Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), or Cerebral Edema (HACE), immediate descent is mandatory. For life-threatening emergencies, our Dehradun headquarters maintains 24/7 direct communication with Indian Air Force (IAF) and civil helicopter operators for search and rescue (SAR) extraction.
Standard travel insurance almost universally excludes roped mountaineering and elevations above 4,500m. All climbers on our 6,000m and 7,000m expeditions are required to purchase specialized alpine travel insurance that explicitly covers technical mountaineering, search and rescue (SAR), and emergency helicopter evacuation up to the maximum route altitude.
Whether you are preparing for your first 6,000m summit or targeting a technical 7,000m peak, we thoroughly evaluate your past altitude profile, cardiovascular conditioning, and technical experience before accepting any deposit or booking commitment.
